Sparkling Moments
And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. ― Roald Dahl
Creating images of sparkling moments for me is a means to be able to watch the world with wonder… Images that touch my soul make me happy. They remind me of great and sparkling moments… That is why I take pictures…
With regards to ‘seeing’, I believe that every image has a different meaning for the onlooker. Finding out what the differences and similarities are between the way people look at images, is one of my core drives.
At the same time, (some) contrast is necessary to take a good picture… No black without white… Typhoon, a Dutch artist, explains this in one of his songs ‘Van de regen naar de zon’ (From the Rain to the Sun) very beautifully:
Without the Dark, the Light can not know Itself (…)
― Typhoon
For me, this also applies to life. There’s a (sometimes small) gift in every ‘dark’ situation.
When you look at my pictures, what do you see? I hope you see that I like to set the spotlight upon things that might go unnoticed to others?
That is also how I like to co-create. If you need a new image in your head or mind, maybe together we can light up the part that you need to succeed with that what makes your eyes sparkle?
